Since NaS released his 8th studio album, Hip Hop Is Dead, in 2006 the life status of HipHop became a heated topic of debate. I will admit to being on the pessimistic side of things, something definitely shifted in regards to the substance of music. The emergence of a new generation of emcees has me hopeful though.
